  • Following on from the first webinar ‘Quick and Dirty Dog Behaviour: Tips for understanding dog behaviour in the field’, this webinar builds on the theme of better observation and handling of dogs leading to increased safety and welfare for dogs and humans in the context of animal management, and better outcomes for everyone involved. We will discuss how to build-in methods for collection and assessment of behaviour information to existing systems, enabling accurate and speedy evaluations of dogs, increasing transparency with rescue partners and adopters, and meeting legislative requirements for proper recording of health and welfare information about animals in care. We will also touch on some of the common pitfalls and risks when evaluating dog behaviour within the welfare system, and provide some suggestions on how to avoid these. Come along and get a taste for what is possible in the realm of behaviour assessment, even in time-strapped, resource-poor environments like pound kennels.
